Reunite with friends

I went to church tonight in Radvana and it is so wonderful to see old friends. The church is growing strong. Glory be to God! Had a wonderful time reuniting with Pastor Brugosh and family. We went out for pizza. Laughed, prayed, and discussed what some thoughts for this year may be. Pastor Tony in Hungary lost his church to a tornado. They are rebuilding and we have been asked to join them for their reopening/ dedication service. We will be taking Pastor Brugosh and some others from the church to go and celebrate with them. Thanks to God for this growing relationship between these two churches. We met Pastor Tony last year as Pastor Frank introduced him and we had a great time worshiping at his church. (you can watch the video here) We will attend a funeral tomorrow for the mother of one of the young men in the Praise team.

Praise the Lord, we made it

Praise the Lord, we made it safely to Ukraine! The trip was not so bad, and Danya did quite well considering. We now have a lot of work to do to get the house in order and make things Danya safe. There are a lot of things for a curious 2 year old boy to get into. Thanks to our friends Frank and Tony from Hungary, we had a wonderful layover, lodging, and shuttle to the train into Ukraine. There is much excitement here and we are anxious to get to work! Not real sure what will be first, but we are waiting and we know that God will show us what needs to be done. We thank you all for your prayers, well wishing, calls as we were leaving, and knowing that you are with us on this journey. God bless you all and we will get a newsletter out soon. Much love. Many Blessings…

Battle Hymn of the Republic

I just reread the lyrics to this song, and was really impressed, and shocked. Shocked to know that this was once a very patriotic American Song. I have only ever sung this song as playground humor. These words are truly beautiful!! take a moment and sing!

Battle Hymn of the Republic
Written by: Julia Ward Howe

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.

10 Ways to Rejuvenate Your Prayer Life

Do you want to jump-start your prayer life? Have you fallen into a rut and feel you've lost the fervor you once had? Here are some tips to help you renew your prayer life.

10. Accountability.
Start praying with a partner or with a handful of believers who will push one another to pray. The key is to never treat group prayer time as a substitute for your personal prayer time. Carve out a period before or after the group intercession to engage with your heavenly Father alone.

9. Location, location, location.
If your knees have burned a hole in the same place for the last 50 years, then maybe it's time to change your location. A change in surroundings might exhilarate your prayer time. Try going to a park and praying while gazing at God's creation.

8. Read the Word. Use the Word of God to pray. You can find Scriptures related to your prayers. Or you can pray over the promises God has made to all of us through His Word.

7. Be still and listen. We should make a practice of slowing down to listen to what God is saying to us.

6. Get away. Sometimes prayer retreats can invigorate your prayer time. Try locking yourself in a cabin or hotel room. After a while, you'll find yourself basking in His presence, if you are earnest.

5. Discipline.
Try to pray at the same time every day and make it part of your regular daily routine.

4. Prayer list.
As you pray, write all your prayer requests in a notebook. Remember to write down all the times that God answers your prayers. You'll be encouraged when you're able to see how faithful He has been to you.

3. Keep a prayer journal.
It's good to keep a journal beside you while you are praying. Many times God will speak to you or give you an idea while you are praying. This will help you keep track of what God is saying to you.

2. Worship.
Your prayer time doesn't always have to be a monologue. Sometimes it can be melodic. When you feel weary start worshipping.

1. Rest.
Ask someone else to pray for you. If you are usually the person ministering, it is easy to burn out. Take a break and receive from God.

World Day of Prayer for Children in Crisis

Father God,
We come in agreement today asking that You touch the lives of children who have never known what it is to receive affection, warm arms that offer love, or a place of safety and security. We are sorry because we have not always opened our hearts or arms to speak and act on behalf of children at risk in order to serve them and make Your will known in the earth. We pray that the cries of children who suffer would be heard by those who carry Your name Lord Jesus. We pray that You would send more workers into this ‘harvest field’ of millions. We pray for more intercessors, mothers and fathers to show Your love in this needy world. We pray that communities would be transformed as children discover Your love and that the world will know the good news of Your Kingdom as people work together in unity and love.
Amen.

Remember this weekend of World Prayer for Children in Crisis.

Why am I a missionary? - Valeriia Wiser

Why do I choose to be a missionary? Because I strongly believe it is not a complimentary church activity but an expected behavior as you mature in your christian walk. To get to know His will on your life- don't look any further than an open Bible and a spread out world map. Why do I choose to be a missionary to Ukraine? I would answer quoting a brother in Christ and a missionary to China W. Borden: "If ten men are carrying a log -- nine of them on the little end and one at the heavy end -- and you want to help, which end will you lift on?" . On which side of the log are you today? And if you are on neither - thrilling and the most fulfilling journey of all still awaits ahead.
Valeriia Wiser

Excerpt from Pentecostal Light

"Reader, if you would understand the wonderful revelations of God's Word, give up all your own wisdom and sit down meek and lowly at the feet of Jesus, and abandon yourself to the Holy Ghost, that He may teach you the deep things of God. We learn, in I. Cor. iii., that the first lesson in the school of Christ is to find out that we are fools. I. Cor. ii. teaches us that the Word of God can not be discerned by the human intellect. The Holy Spirit must teach your spirit His revealed Word and will, or you will remain a spiritual ignoramus. God's Word is the sword with which we are to conquer the world, flesh and Satan. You do not need colleges and theologians to reveal to you God's Word, but you need the Holy Ghost to illuminate it."
